Visakhapatnam: The state government is chalking out plans to put Vizag in the top as far as sectors like agriculture and industries are concerned, said finance minister and district in-charge minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu.
The in-charge minister conducted a review meet with concerned officials regarding drought preparedness and enquired about the summer action plan to meet the drinking water crisis at the collectorate on Friday. He said another meeting will be held on April 28 and 29 for urban and rural areas about their summer action plans and drought preparedness.
Ramakrishnudu also enquired about the availability of drinking water, irrigation, labour works, and fodder. He said that the state government has already released Rs 3 crore to each district for the summer action plan. “Vizag is not in the list of drought-affect districts though 359 mandals in AP are hit by drought related conditions,” he said.
The finance minister said that state government’s present budget is of Rs 1.35 lakh crore as against the Rs 1.57 lakh crore during the previous fiscal. “The government is trying to analyse how the people are being benefited after spending the budget amount and its returns,” he said.
