GCC to set up petrol bunks in tribal areas
Visakhapatnam: Girijan Cooperative Corporation (GCC) will set up 13 petrol bunks at an estimated cost of Rs 10 crore with financial support of HPCL. All these bunks would be functional within a month. State tribal welfare minister Ravela Kishore Babu is inaugurating a petrol bunk in Hukumpeta on Wednesday.
According to GCC managing director A Ravi Prakash, the corporation will earn a turnover of Rs 75 crore per annum through all the 13 bunks. Each bunk will be manned by a manager and six assistants. In total, the project will provide employment to around 70 tribal youth. Besides sale of petrol and diesel, GCC will sell its products and branded products of Walmart. For this purpose, mini super bazaars are being planned in the premises of the bunks, he said.
