Making it clear that efforts are afoot to set up a film industry in the port city, HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that it would be a reality soon.
With the tourism corridor to be developed at eight locations on the beach stretch (RK Beach Road to Bheemunipatnam) at an estimated expense of Rs. 300 crore, a picture-perfect setting that caters to every need of a filmmaker and the oldest aircraft carrier INS Viraat to be decommissioned and grounded here, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said the city has all the essential qualities to become a film hub.
“Most importantly, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is keen on revamping the city as a major tourism hub and setting up a film industry will only add value to the proposal.
This apart, actor and Hindupur Telugu Desam Party MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna, actors Ram Charan Tej, Bunny and president of Movie Artistes’ Association and actor Rajendra Prasad are looking forward to set up a film studio in the port city,” he said.
